You can use automated replies to reply to text messages on your Apple Watch, and even add your own replies to the list.
You are trying to reply to a text message sent to you Apple Watch† But typing on the watch is not easy or convenient. To help you respond to a message, Apple provides a set of standard smart replies with comments like “OK,” “Yes,” “No,” and “Thank you.” Just tap the smart reply and it will be sent to the other person.
While the canned responses are smart, they can sound impersonal and aren’t always helpful in a business conversation. For that reason, you can edit the smart answers by deleting any answers you don’t use and adding your own custom answers. Here’s how to use and add Smart Replies.

First, let’s take a look at how the feature works. Launch the Messages app on your Apple Watch and tap a text to view it. Swipe down the screen and you’ll see all the smart answers under Suggestions.
The smart replies are fairly intuitive, as they change based on the incoming message. If someone texts you to thank you for something, you may get replies like “You’re welcome” and “No problem.” If someone asks if you have received anything, the answers may be “No” and “Not yet”. The built-in smart replies can certainly help, but to make a better impression, you can simply add your own custom replies to respond to messages on your watch. To do this, open the Watch app on your iPhone, navigate to the My Watch section and select Messages.
On the Messages screen, tap the item for Canned Responses. Here are some of the standard answers available. To remove something you would never use, tap Edit and then the minus icon next to the one you want to remove. Tap Done (Figure B†
You can also edit all existing answers. Tap in the field of one of the current answers. Change the answer as desired (Figure C†
Now it’s time to add a few of your own. Tap the Add Answer command. An empty field opens. Type the answer you want to add, then tap Done on the keyboard. Tap Add Reply again to type another reply. Continue this process until you have added all the custom answers you want (Figure D†
Now it’s time to try one of your custom answers in action. Launch the Messages app on your Apple Watch and open a specific message. Swipe down the suggestions and you should see the custom answers you’ve added at the bottom of the list. Tap one of the replies to send it (Digits E†
