Ranveer Singh is no longer openly critical of his performances. “I’m just nicer to myself,” he says. The actor, who is gearing up for the release of his next film, Jayeshbhai Jordaaragrees that there are many characters living in him.
Joking that his team feels he is “slightly schizophrenic”, Ranveer shared that: Karan Johar once said to him, “You have so many people in you, we just don’t know which one we’re going to get on any given day.”
Ranveer further referred to how lyricist Javed Akhtar Gauri Khan once asked about Shah Rukh Khan in a unique way. Akhtar asked Gauri, “How are they?” pointing to the multiple characters that SRK carries within it.

Further commending Shah Rukh for his contribution to Indian cinema, Ranveer called the superstar “true greatness and a pioneer in the Indian entertainment industry.” He spoke to Film Companion.
“He’s not a king for nothing. Inhone jo mall banaya hai, usme hum apni choti si dukaan chala rahe hain (We all run our little shops in the mall he built!). He made Indian entertainment, which it is. That is his contribution. He made award shows, live shows, commercials, movie promotions. He is the measure, the norm. He defines it all. He is the original mobster. I really love him and have a lot of respect for him and can’t wait to see him on screen again,” Ranveer added.
The actor will be seen next in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, where he plays a Gujarati man on the run with his pregnant wife. He wants to protect his unborn daughter from his father, who wishes a grandson and an heir to his village arpanch position.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar is being touted as a film Ranveer has never made before, touching upon themes of misogyny, female feticide and gender inequality. The film also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah.
“My ambition to excel is such that there is absolutely no margin for anything less than great,” Ranveer added in the aforementioned interview.
