A new study from Revolent shows which roles in particular countries earn the highest average salaries for cloud tech workers.
As the demand for cloud technology talent has grown, so have the salaries associated with acquiring that talent. As part of a research conducted by cloud talent company Revolentfound that Switzerland leads all other countries in that arena, compared to the other 13 countries included in the findings.
Insurgent President Nabila Salem says the intent of the survey was “to see what others with a similar level of experience and skills are currently earning so you can better understand your market value.”
The best and lowest paying countries for cloud tech talent
With salaries converted from euros to dollars, Switzerland led all other countries with the highest average salary for cloud jobs by $133,326. The United States came in second with an average of $114,772 and the top three countries in cloud technology salaries was rounded out with Australia at $102,423.
While Switzerland held the top spot in cloud technology salaries, other countries in Western Europe didn’t fare quite as well, with one offering an average salary of over $100,000 USD less than Switzerland’s. Italy finished last in the salary rankings, with just a paltry average of $32,053. Spain came in at 13 with an average value of $42,085 and Belgium finished third worst in the rankings with $46,056.

Highest-Paying Positions in Cloud Technology
As the demand for talent in cloud tech remains high, certain roles have the potential to earn much more than their counterparts. The highest paid cloud technology role was found to be an average technical advisor, earning an average of $161,000 USD. Within the top three highest paying jobs, Salesforce/nCino Solution Architect was the second highest earning position with $157,938 and Program Manager came in third with $142,500.
It was also found that the highest paid positions in a given country differed across the 14 countries surveyed. According to Revolent’s findings, the account manager/account manager, IT director/CIO and program managers are top earners within the Swiss tech cloud industry. In contrast, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, Project Manager and Mulesoft Architect positions tended to attract the most pay in the Australian tech cloud market. For US employees, positions such as Technical Consultant, Salesforce/nCino Solution Architect, and Program Manager earned the highest salaries on average.
“Following the available data, cloud tech professionals in employment and those seeking new opportunities now have a benchmark for evaluating their market value,” Salem said. “This means they can be better informed to renegotiate their salaries to reflect global market value or their rates.”
